Religion - We currently use the Our Sunday Visitor program entitled I Am Special.
The objectives of this program are to help the children develop positive attitudes about themselves, their families, and friends by discovering and learning more about the many gifts, talents, and abilities God has provided. Increasing their knowledge about God and their friendship with Jesus is also developed. Learning about the Catholic Church's liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter are emphasized as well. The children attend weekly school Liturgies and monthly Prayer Services.
Reading/E.L.A. - We are using the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Journeys Program to implement the Common Core Standards. Each week the students will be using shared reading stories to develop vocabulary, comprehension, phonics, phonological awareness, speaking, listening, and writing skills The students will also be given the opportunity to read several stories to practice reading skills.
Guided Reading - students are assessed and placed in levels that will practice and grow their reading skills. For this we use A - Z Reading program.
Math - Counting and cardinality, operations and algebraic thinking, number and operations in base ten, measurement and data, and geometry are topics we explore using the McGraw-Hill My Math program.
